Green Bandhani Printed Flared Maxi Dress
Women in traditional Punjabi culture frequently accessorized themselves with colorful bandhani kurtis that were hand-printed. Originating from the Sanskrit word "bandh," which means "to tie," bandhani is a kind of tie-dye method in which little sections of fabric are tied with thread before dying to create elaborate patterns. Although it is most frequently linked to Gujarat and Rajasthan, this art form has found its way into Punjabi clothing, especially among ladies from rural and semi-urban areas.
The bandhani kurtis were ideal for the warm weather because they were typically made of light cotton or silk. Bright, eye-catching hues like red, yellow, green, and blue were frequently used in the designs' dots, circles, and stripes. These kurtis were frequently worn with vibrant dupattas made of phulkari embroidery, which gave the ensemble an additional layer of traditional embroidery.
